I began blogging in 2009 to share our family’s journey to overcome a host of health issues including anxiety, allergies, eczema and chronic upper respiratory infections. By changing our lifestyle, we’ve improved our health and overall quality of life, but the journey is far from over and we’d love for you to join us.
Since launching Broccoli Cupcake, I’ve worked with leading brands including Seventh Generation, Applegate, Nintendo and Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. I’m a former healthy living expert for FOX 17 Tennessee Mornings and have been a freelance writer for outlets ranging from Yoga Journal to SavvySource.com.
As a PR-friendly blogger and an avid information seeker, I’m always open to learning about new products and services that encourage and support the goal of leading a healthy, green lifestyle. The topics on Broccoli Cupcake range from food, recipes, and nutrition, to green living, family and fitness. Yet they are all connected in their goal to inspire healthier, more informed choices.
Most recently, my passion for healthy living, real food and helping others has led me to pursue a certification in holistic health coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I graduate in May of 2013. I’m active in the health and wellness community both online and off.

My professional background is in communications. I graduated from Miami University with a degree in journalism and have more than a decade of experience in public relations and marketing.
I’m a novice cook obsessed with real food. I love reading, traveling and spending time with my husband of 10 years and our two rowdy boys. I’m also a home-school mama and a fitness enthusiast who is learning to love the outdoors. I’m a former big city girl, born and raised in the North. After almost a decade in the South, I couldn’t imagine calling any other place home.
