Today’s tip is a little bit of happiness for tired, stressed out, anxious mamas (like me). I picked it up from a lecture by Dr. John Douillard, author of Perfect Health for Kids (which I’m reading right now on my Kindle). It’s super easy and you’re gonna love it when you try it.
What you do. Take a shower, before you get out, rub your skin down with a very light coat of oil. You can use olive oil, coconut oil (my oil of choice) or sesame oil. Pat yourself dry and you’re done.
How it works. Everywhere you touch on your body your nervous system is exposed. Oil calms that exposure. It’s that simple.
If you don’t try the oil massage for the benefits to your nerves try it for the benefits to your skin. My skin is so soft and smooth since I started doing this. So much better than chemical laden, pore clogging lotions. I find this works best when I shower in the morning, but I do it whenever I shower. It’s a great self-care habit to get into and very soothing.
