Gluten Free Waffle Sundae Recipe (Enter to win $350 William Sonoma Gift Card)

Although no one in our family has a gluten allergy or sensitivity, we have a lot of friends who’ve experienced significant health benefits by switching to gluten free diets.

One friend in particular comes to mind. She’s just starting a physician prescribed gluten-free diet to manage chronic and debilitating inflammation in her body. The problem is she doesn’t like to cook (her husband does all the cooking – lucky girl) and she has a bit of sweet tooth. Lately, she’s been feeling a little deprived when it comes to sweet indulgences.

With that in mind, I set to work creating a gluten free dessert that a novice cook could prepare in just a few minutes. With the help of a few great Udi’s products, this particular treat turned out sweet and crunchy with just the right amount of gooey! I think she’s gonna like it! Everyone deserves a little indulgence once in awhile.

Banana Crunch Waffle Sundae:

Ingredients:

  • Udi’s Cinnamon Rolls (in the frozen foods section)
  • Udi’s Original Artisan Granola (it has banana chips in it)
  • Dairy free organic vanilla ice cream (or the ice cream of your choice)
  • 1/2 a banana thinly sliced
  • waffle iron

Directions:

Bring your Udi’s cinnamon rolls to room temperature. I put it in the microwave for 30 seconds to speed up the process. Place 1-4 rolls in your waffle iron and press down for about 45 seconds. Just long enough to flatten the cinnamon roll, create the waffle grooves and warm it all the way through.

Plate your cinnamon roll and place a heaping scoop of the vanilla ice cream on top.

Drizzle the top with Udi’s cinnamon sauce. It comes with the cinnamon rolls.

Sprinkle with Udi’s Original Flavor Artisan Granola.

Top with thinly sliced banana.

Try not to eat the whole the thing! I dare you. I was only going to have a few bites, but…
