Last week, I was lucky enough to participate in the Nashville leg of the Moments Between the Milestones Hallmark Tour. We spent time chatting about the little things that make life worth celebrating, which was such a great reminder at the end of a busy week. I was so grateful to start my day with a room full of creative, inspiring people willing to share a little bit of who they are and their family life.
I walked away with two favorite moments that really inspired me. The first was a video montage of some of our groups special moments. I loved how imperfectly perfect they all were and how every one made us smile with that sense of knowing that some of the best moments are those that are unplanned and that give us the opportunity to laugh at ourselves. Here’s the video.
This video got me thinking about our scrapbooks for the kids, which are full of photos of specific milestones. First bath, first birthday, first Christmas, etc. But we don’t have any books dedicated to those great “Moments Between The Milestones“. My husband and I decided to go through our photos and videos and create our own video montage of those unexpected moments that turned into great memories. We’re asking the boys to help by picking out some of their favorite photos and videos and retelling what they remember. I can’t wait to share the finished product. I think the activity itself will be a great memory for our family!
I mentioned that I had a second favorite moment on the tour. It was a great little writing exercise the creative team from Hallmark organized called “I come from…” Check out my version and directions for creating your own.
