We recently started seeing a new doctor who practices integrative medicine, which means rather than just treating the illness, he treats the whole person using traditional medicine and proven complementary practices. The complimentary practices tend to be more natural and address everything from acute and chronic illnesses to preventative care.
He introduced us to a new product that’s been incredibly helpful for our boys, who are really susceptible to upper respiratory infections. It’s called VIRA CLEAR EPs 7630. We’ve used it to treat several infections and it’s helped tremendously.
VIRA CLEAR is a homeopathic, alohol-free syrup that claims to shorten the duration and reduce the severity of upper respiratory tract infections. It can be used to treat coughs, congestion and sore throats and it’s even helped our boys manage croup symptoms when started early. My favorite thing about it is that it’s been the subject of numerous clinical studies involving more than 9,000 patients, including 3,900 children.
If I had stumbled across this on my own, I never would have tried it, especially on my children. But because it was prescribed by our doctor (who was kind enough to let me ask A LOT of questions) I felt confident giving it a try. It’s worked so well I just ordered two more bottles to have on hand throughout the rest of cold and flu season.
There aren’t a lot of safe options out there for treating coughs and congestion in kids, but this seems to be a good, natural alternative to medicated cold and cough syrups. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about it the next time your kids are sick. It’s available online, but I always prefer a doctor’s advice when it comes to treating my kids.
